Made a promise

I promised to you, and to myself. Ones I am on Ameland. A Dutch Island in the North of Holland. I will write something on my blog every day. Moving from the centre of NL, to this small Island is a nice and promising challenge. Four months of photography, painting and talking with artists. Oh, and trying to write a book. I gues four months won't be long enough...

Well went to the supermarket, on the bike. Lots of wind (not in the back).. But the view and fresh air made us smile!

I've been watching You

This work is hanging in the Hotel of my sister and brother in law. I am loving it. Pressed on forex. Format is 120 by 120 cm. (Better not drop it on the floor. As someone did, and didn't tell). It is for sale. But not only this photo. I have about 250 photos (for now). Based on this subject.

Zij staat sterk. 

Straalt, lacht. 

Rechtdoor zee. 

High in the sky. 

Baant zij zich een weg naar de top. 

Met het hart op z'n plek. 

Daar gaat zij.

Fascination

My fascination for these big shells started long long ago. I can't even remeber when.. But they are all different. The color, the shape or hight. This shell is always one out of two! But on the beach you will find them together or seperate. It doesn't matter. They catch the eye.. Make you imagine.

This photo is from a few years ago. Still I have to work on this project. I will start again in september. As I will move to Ameland for 4 months. Till the end of this year. Going along the seaside. Morning, midday and evening... In between I will paint, make photo's, write and soak in inspiration. Follow me!

 

Hoe begin je een blog? Ik met beeld, en de combinatie beeld en tekst.

Met dit blog wil ik voornamelijk mijn werk laten zien. Wat zou moeten uitmonden in het verkopen van mijn werk.

Sinds mijn jonge jaren teken en schilder ik. Op mijn tiende ben ik begonnen met schrijven. Gedichten en verhalen. Mijn gedichten zijn in twee boekjes gebundeld. Van het tweede boekje ZeevanRuimte zijn 500 exemplaren verkocht. Over een paar maanden hoop ik een nieuwe bundel af te ronden. In 1992 heb ik mijn propedeuse van de Hoge School voor de Kunsten te Kampen afgerond. Mijn verblijf in Sri Lanka, 2005-2007, heb ik vastgelegd dmv korte verhalen.

Mijn werk is een constante ontwikkeling. Zelfs als ik een doek voor mij heb liggen, en een idee heb wat ik wil weergeven. Dan kan het resultaat verrassend anders zijn dan mijn eerste ingeving. Ik vind het fantastisch om nieuwe technieken te proberen. Verschillende materialen toe te passen is een kick.

De gedichten ontstaan ter plekke. Een beeld, een geluid, een geur, een verhaal. Het zet mij aan het schrijven. Soms kan ik na jaren een gedicht aanpassen.

Kunstenaars die mij inspireren zijn Gustav Klimt, Amedeo Modigliani, Frida Kahlo en Auguste Rodin. De eenvoud van een schilderij dat niet na te schilderen is. Het leven weerspiegelt. De kracht van het beeld.

I started this project two months ago. This are still 'sketches'. The real work will be finished in a few months. Hopefully the work will be publiced in Hotel Zee van Tijd. And more people might be interested, as I will sell this work. But I will show you the final work surely soon..
